After seven years with the business and many within the industry, on 1st October, Caroline Demoulpied officially handed over the reins as APP UK’s Managing Director to Sean Richards as she begins her transition to early retirement in quarter one of 2025. Caroline, who has been an integral part of the APP UK business since she joined the company back in 2017, has transitioned into Platfform, APP UK’s parent Company managing some key projects until she retires early next year.

Commenting on her retirement, Caroline said: “Whilst looking forward to my retirement, it has been a pleasure to have worked as APP UK’s MD for the last seven years. I have been fortunate enough to work alongside a fabulous team of committed professionals and steered the company through a period of significant growth, both organic and acquisitive. However, our main success has been due to the trust and loyalty that our clients and employees have shown us over the years. It has been my privilege to work with you all and I know that the APP UK team, in the very capable hands of Sean, will continue to uphold and deliver the same level of professionalism, expertise, and personal service that our clients have come to expect from us.”

Sean Richards is an experienced business professional with a history of delivering success gained within the branded foodservice sector. His extensive experience includes leading high performing, diverse teams with multi-site responsibilities and the delivery of end user soft service cleaning, security and facilities management services.

Sean commented: “I am delighted to join APP UK . What attracted me to this role was the opportunity to join an organisation that had a different focus, one that makes a direct impact on the communities in which it operates. APP UK holds a unique position within the Commercial Cleaning and Soft FM services sector, with 100% of the shareholding being owned by the Charity, Platfform. APP UK has developed a reputation for creating social impact, while delivering an industry-leading service, generating profit for distribution back to Platfform.

The ultimate benefit is that our profits go towards supporting people with their mental health, recovery, wellbeing, independence and empowerment journey. My aim now is to continue building on this amazing work and driving further growth across the business.”

Matthew Cole, Deputy CEO of Platfform, comments: “With her extensive business and industry experience Caroline has been instrumental to APP UK’s success and her dedication and input has been invaluable. She is also a real pleasure to work with and will be greatly missed by everyone in the APP UK team.

“We extend a warm welcome to Sean, and look forward to the continuing development of the business where its success greatly contributes to supporting people and communities with their mental health and wellbeing.”
